The IYC Clubhouse, completed in 1998, is a beautiful 13,000 square foot stone "castle-like" facility with a heated 25' x 50' swimming pool with a diving board, formal dining hall, a professional kitchen, a recreation hall with bar and grill and beautiful oak trim and furnishings throughout. The clubhouse is located to provide a great scenic view of Geist Lake and is truly a place members can be proud to bring their family and friends. |
Other Amenities |
IYC is open seven days a week throughout the year for the enjoyment of its memebers and their guests. Senior and Social Members (including spouse and children ages 16-25 years residing in member's household) have 24 hour access via an access card to club grounds, restrooms, showers, telephone, emergency items and vending machines. Operating hours of the Club are generally 8am to 10pm (later hours for Club social or private events). Senior (Boating) Members, Social Members with personal watercraft (Jet Ski) slip, or members coming to the Club by water, also have 24 hour access to IYC docks. IYC docks comprised of 50 double boat slips equipped with electrical power, lights, drinking water and sewage pump out. Senior and Social Members may obtain a personal watercraft slip(s) based on availability and their seniority. Members may buy and install their own boat and/or personal watercraft lifts after obtaining approval from IYC Dock Master. A fulltime on-site club manager is available to provide information about the Club at 317.335.2582(CLUB), tours of the Club, and to assist Club members as well as providing managerial/ security services. |
Heated Swimming Pool |
IYC's heated (80 degrees plus) swimming pool is a great asset and source of enjoyment for our members, their families and guests. The swimming pool measures 25' x 50' with a depth that varies from 3.5' to 9.5' in front of the diving board. The IYC swimming pool is normally open two months longer than most other outside pools, weather permitting, open from May 1 through September 30th. Pool hours are: Sunday through Thursday 8am to 9pm; Friday and Saturday and Holidays 8am to 10pm. |
Social Activities |
| The Club's 1,000 square food dance floor, main floor bar, and lower deck sports Bar/Grill with seven TV sets provides members and guests opportunities to meet new friends and obtain food and beverages at a reasonable cost. In addition, the Bar/Grill area is a good place to play pool, ping pong, electronic games or just enjoy a relaxing time in front of the fireplace. |
Private Use of the Clubhouse |
| Members may reserve the Clubhouse Main Hall, Mezzanine, and/or Board Room for family or business functions. This privilege sooner or later can be an important benefit for such purposes as weddings, receptions, reunions, birthday parties, graduation, school functions, training, or business meetings, etc. A discounted rate schedule is available with rates depending upon membership category, the area used, day, and number attending. During the boating season (May 15th - Sept. 15th), members can have up to 20 guests for their events in the lower level of the clubhouse and up to 40 guests during the off season at no cost. Arrangements for scheduling, set up, food and beverage service are available by contacting the IYC on-site manager at 335-CLUB(2582). |
Reciprocity Status |
| The Indianapolis Yacht Club is a member of the Yachting Club of America and has Reciprocity Status with hundreds of other yacht clubs across America. Each IYC member receives an IYC Photo ID Card and a Reciprocal Courtesy Card from the Yachting Club of America. Presenting reciprocal courtesy card permits you access to Yachting Club of America yacht clubs that offer reciprocity as you travel. |
